Political reforms and local elections: CAP 2015 calls Togolese and catholic clergy for a huge public demonstration on this May 21st.

Togo - Politique
On Monday during a radio talk show organized by NANA Fm, Mr. Eric Dupuy, communication manager of the National Alliance for Change (ANC) political party, issued an open invitation to catholic clergy and Togolese people nationwide for a demonstration in Lome.
ANC leaders are justifying the necessity of marching in the streets as a way to emphasize on the part of the catholic clergy pastoral letter of April 26th of this year, calling out politicians to go above and beyond everything and get done the political reforms, peace and reconciliation deals and all people centered policies and reforms needed to create shared prosperity, well-being, justice, freedom and liberty to Togolese citizens.

According to Mr. Eric Dupuy, the public demonstration of May 21st aims to subject President Faure Gnassingbé and his staff to proceed to “the Constitutional and Institutional reforms” in the country. The ANC parliamentary group leader Isabelle Ameganvi stated in different interview lately that the two major assignments of their party remain the political reforms and organizing the local elections.

A first pastoral letter of the catholic clergy was published on April 25 last year asking President Faure Gnassingbe to open his arms to reach out and work with everybody. ANC leaders publicly refused any consideration to participate in the government and any institutions with their opponent and justified all year long that its up to the winner of the elections to run the country alone and allow the people to judge their work done at the end of their term.

It does appear this second pastoral letter has generated more interest with different call. Question is, will the request in the first letter affect the second one? What if?
